Highlander is a game format in which shooting a player or a base gets a small number of points, but missiling another player eliminates them from the game and adds their point total to your own. Victory points awarded were 5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, 1 for 5th, plus 1 victory point per player you eliminated.

A couple of triples had four players, and they alternated who played each game.

In round 1 each player played four games. Round 1 games had 17 or 18 players. There were six bases active.

The top 18 players advanced to finals, where they again played 4 games.
